Hey Guys,
I am already cooking on thoughts of my next campaign (and I would love to hear thoughts and possibilities from anyone and everyone).
For now , I have 3 Missions that can be ready fpr the next 3 weeks on Monday Nights to fill in , if no-one else wants to step in with an idea.
I have had it suggested to me that a focus on later war period would be a breath of fresh air , so these one-off missions fit that bill.
As I approach most things , I like to provide an alternative to the established norm. For these 3 missions , the focus is on team achievement
rather than individual scoring , so I will have individual scores turned off , in favour of Team focused objectives.
Mission 1 All Pilots fly Red - half in B-29s , half in P-51s
Dogfight Style Map
Kumamoto Engine Works
1945 - B-29s escorted by P-51s bomb the Kumamoto Aero-Engine Factory in Japan.
Opposition is the very latest in Japanese aviation technology.
Goal is to hit the target and exfil a certain number of friendly aircraft in order to be successful.
Mission 2 Pilots Divided into Teams 50 : 50 Red:Blue
Dogfight Style Map
The Bastogne Perimeter
December 1944 - The US Army units in Bastogne have been surrounded by the German
von Rundstedt Offensive.
Red side must prevent German ground forces from piercing the Bastogne perimeter ,
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY must resupply Bastogne by accurate C-47 supply drops.
Mission 3 Pilots divided into Teams 50 : 50 Red : Blue
Dogfight Style Map
Nazi Holdouts !
Early 1947 - The fledgeling UN has received unnerving reports of Nazi military activity in the Arctic.
They have dispatched a Joint Nations Naval Task Force to Search out and destroy the holdouts.
Red Team must destroy the Aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin , and the Tirpitz (!) , as well as destroying
Nazi aircraft and facilities.
Blue Team must destroy the Fleet Carriers HMS Illustrious and USS Essex.
Features a Late War and Post War Planeset.
(I suggest you take the intervening 2 weeks to practice with IL2 1946 German ultra modern aircraft (landing the Lerche) ,
and practice firing wire guided anti-ship missiles from the Do217K2 - NOTE : You will have to bind a few control keys for this.)
I hope these Missions appeal.
Again , if anyone else wishes to step in with other ideas , please do so.

Mission 1 looks cool!
They all look cool...

Monday Single Mission
Team Dogfight Mission
All pilots fly RED
Late 1944
Following the Capture of the island of Tinian , the USAAF was quick to develop it as the first Pacific Base to be within
heavy bomber range of the Japanese Home Islands.
B-29s and long range P-51s were landing even as the seabees finished the runways.
Today's mission is a medium altitude attack on the Aero-Engine Factory complex at Kumamoto on the Island of Kyushu.
Half the group will fly B-29s , and half will escort in P-51s. There will be AI bombers and fighters as well.
We know this target is important , and you can bet your backside the Japs do too. Intel warns us to expect resistance from the latest in Jap fighters.

Bombers will attack from 11,500 ft - we need this facility out of business !
Objectives :
1) Put the factory offline for the foreseeable future.
2) Exfil the group to Grid AU-1-5 ( when we get enough aircraft at the exfil point we will
receive a message).
Consult the Recon Photos to get a visual idea of the target.

Spawn in at 1 second intervals to avoid crashes.
There are respawn points - one for bombers , and one for fighters - consult your mission brief for details.
The Mission will run between 90 and 120 minutes.

Im in for a B29
I also like the Mission #1 scenario :) I'll fly a P-51 if available.
I suggest we spawn in descending order.
Also, call out your spawn, like "Skatf*#k spawning"
So make note of pilot above you.
~S
Sounds like fun to me. Ill take a 29 and Bears wing. That way I can drop when he does. lol
It is suggested that you print a copy of this brief to have on hand for the Mission
Mission Notes :
TARGET : KUMAMOTOTO AERO-ENGINE MANUFACTURING PLANT
B-29s of the 6th Bombardment Group (Heavy) , escorted by P-51 Mustangs of the 47th Fighter Sqdn/15th FG will attack the Kumamoto plant today.
Historical Skins have been provided.
Please use a skin prefaced by "KEW" prefix.
Mission is airstart.
Allow 1 second between spawns to prevent collision.
Mission is a Dogfight Map.
If you are shot down :
1) There is one respawn pt for B-29s in AK-18 - make another bomb run on Kumamoto.
2) There is one respawn pt for P-51s in AP-14 – head in the direction that the tactical situation demands.
There are 2 Objectives for this mission.
1) Bomb the Factory
2) Exfil to Grid AU-1
If enough aircraft ex-fil to AU-1 , a "Mission Complete" message will be received.
Otherwise mission will be terminated at 100 minutes.
Bomb load is 10 x 500lb GP and
10 x 500lb Incendiary
Routing
Bomb Run Altitude 11,500 ft

On arrival at rendezvous , orbit until all aircraft reach
the rendezvous pt.
Good Luck,
Kopf
So the target is a 50 minute flight from the airspawn?
DW
Just before we're ready, I'll cal out your name and say Go!
That will be your Que to spawn.
S!
49 minutes to be precise.
Kopf
~S~ Kop
Just looking at the times/speed you have there .. B-29s are the fastest of the heavy's.. keeping a slow speed of 300 kph will be hard to maintain..may need flaps in?? This may go faster than you intended..
Well , the Japanese AAA was the biggest threat to our bombgroup.
It was thick and nasty.
Only a few enemy fighters even approached our guys - but they put a beating on the group that preceded us to target.
The officer responsible for planning the route has been sacked , and we are assured that someone more experienced will be his replacement.
We were unable to take out the Kumamoto factory , and as a result we will be going back in.
The brass is being mum about when , but I'll keep you posted.
Next weeks mission will be the resupply of Bastogne , and the defense of Foy , on the northern outskirts of Bastogne.
Intel and maps will be distributed at a later date.

Next Monday's Mission : The Bastogne Perimeter
December 22 , 1944
The von Rundstedt Offensive , which will become known to history later as "The Battle of the Bulge" has been underway
for almost a week. The Krauts caught us with our pants down. They have captured St. Vith , Hosingen , Gouvy , Houffalize , Bertogne and Ourtheville. Bastogne is surrounded.
Bastogne is the key road and rail junction in the Ardennes. Our troops in Bastogne can only be supplied by air drop.
This is a 2 Team Red vs Blue Dogfight Mission.
Divide the sides evenly , as though for a FnF.
Red Aircraft Set
P47D-22 , P47D-27 , P38L , P51D5NT , C-47 , L-5 Sentinel
Blue Aircraft Set
Bf109K-4 , FW190F8 , Me410A , Bf110G-2 , Fi-156 Storch , FW189 Uhu

Team Objectives , rather than individual ones are the order of the day.
Individual Scoring is TURNED OFF.
Recon and supply flights are vital to the Mission.
Recon flights for both sides are KEY.
Ground Unit padlock is off - so you must identify ground units by flying low and slow.
Red Team has 2 Objectives :
1) Resupply Bastogne by Air Supply Drop (C-47s).
There are 4 Drop Zones around Bastogne.
***
(https://s19.postimg.org/aquxbd29v/Bastogne.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/64yt30gqn/)
***
Each Drop Zone is indicated by a cross made of Red material , and campfires.
***

***
By Mission end (75 minutes) the Allies must have made one successful supply drop
on EACH ZONE. Success will be indicated by on-screen message.
Drops must be between 500m/1600ft and 800m/2600ft altitude to be successful.
2) Prevent the German Armour from reinforcing Foy (C-1-8) .
If the German Armour reaches Foy in significant numbers , an on-screen message will indicate
failure of this objective.
Recon Aircraft have Airstart Spawn Points near the battle area. You will have to have pilots volunteer to fly these in order to
correctly identify the ground targets. This is a difficult , dangerous and VITAL job.
Difficult because the ground forces for both sides are in the area (and ground padlock will be off).
Dangerous because both sides recognize the importance of these flights , and will attempt to shoot them down !
BLUE TEAM OBJECTIVE is to prevent the success of both Red Objectives.
If Red Team meets both objectives , they win.
Red meets one objective , and has a higher team score at mission end they win.
If Red meets one objective , and has a lower team score at mission end , the game is a draw.
If Red meets neither objective , Blue wins.
NOTE : There is a finite supply of airframes for both sides - if you run out , that's it.
Change sides and play again.
Good Luck.

I'll fly a P-38 if I haaaave to....

Just a thought about dogfight maps, its always good to include "None" in the Air Force list for both sides. Unlike COOPs which have a switch to turn markings on\off, dogfights don't have that. So if you have a custom skin, the None option allows you to dispense with the junky stock markings.
DW
DW,
I would do this if I had faith that the custom skins would follow the historical basis of the missions.
When I build a mission based in an historical context , it really sets back my personal enjoyment and immersion
when I see paint schemes and markings unsuited to the setting.
For missions which are non-historical , I am open to whatever people want.
Also , when I release a skinpack which is usually close to historical authenticity (Unless I can't find an appropriate
representation) I have no problem if people want to add noseart , personal sqdn codes , kill markings etc.
If it is the in-game national markings that bother you , I can release blank skins rather than generic skins with
national markings and no codes - of course I would revert if incorrect nationalities started showing up.
Kopfdorfer
Yeah, I really like historical skins too but ultimately people are gonna fly what they want to fly. No point in letting yourself get too hung up on it or you will be constantly disappointed. For someone like me, its because I have alot of appropriate historical skins that I'd like to see them without stock markings piled on top of the skins own markings.

For Monday 12 March
The calendar has just turned to 1947.
The fledgeling United Nations has been informed by Norwegian Intelligence that ultramodern military aircraft and
warships have been detected in the Arctic.
Inuit informants report that Nazis who escaped NWE at the end of the war have built a military enclave on the Island of Svalbard.
The UN has dispatched a multi-national Naval Task Force to investigate , and to eradicate the "Nazi Holdouts !"

This is a Red vs Blue Team Dogfight.
There is no individual scoring , instead each team has a couple of objectives (READ THE BRIEF AFTER YOU ARE GIVEN YOUR SIDE).
Cumulative Team scores come into play if neither team achieves their Team objectives.
The Airframe Count is finite , so each aircradft lost is one less on the inventory.
It is possible to run out , and this makes it important for the Nazis especially to CAP their homebases.
This Mission needs some more pilots than what we have been seeing for Mondays.
For this reason , I'd like to ask the guys at Joint Command to join in if no-one has any objections.
This is obviously a what if , and is meant to be fun. The plane-set is oddball , and should present challenges to both sides.
The Allied (Red Team) Plane-set includes SeaFury's , and F9F Panthers plus others.
The Nazi Holdouts (Blue Team) Plane-set will be uncertain until Monday night.
Use your imagination.

For Monday March 19...
The Roncey Pocket
German Troops are trapped between Marigny and Roncey in Normandie.
The Roncey Pocket
July 28 , 1944
Following more than 50 days bottled up in the Norman bocage , Operation Cobra burst the crust of the German defense. Armored Columns of the US 2nd and 3rd Armored Divisions swept south and west from Carentan and St.Lo. Strong German Army , Fallschirmjaeger and SS elements were caught in the trap. They were determined to fight their way out. By this time the Allies were flooding the beachead with troops , equipment and supplies , and the first fighter and fighter-bomber squadrons of the RAF 2nd Tactical Air Force and the US 9th Tactical Air Force were now based on French soil.
This is a Team Dogfight Map - Individual Scores are Turned OFF!
Divide Teams in a Ratio of 3 : 2 Red : Blue (as close as possible).
Airfields and parked aircraft are targets.
There is a finite number of aircraft for each side.
Select your Base and read your detailed brief.

Mid-day at the Oasis
Just another day in Libya , late in 1941.
The Long Range Desert Group has identified an Eyetie mixed infantry-armour-artillery force holding the small oasis town at
grid D-3-3. They also report an Afrika Korps Panzer/Panzergrenadier Group approaching from the NW to reinforce.

The Desert Air Force has been called in to take care of this little bundle of spaghetti.
A Mixed Tactical Wing out of H-4-4 will handle the situation.
Free French Blenheims will bomb the Oasis Town.
Some of the new Hurri IID Tankbusters will interdict the Gerry reinforcements ,
and Tomohawks will escort BOTH groups.
Bear in mind that these Hurris are equipped with 40mm ATGs and will be terribly vulnerable to interception.
