~S~ Gents,
I noticed we are going to be flying CAP in F6F's the next Philippines Campaign Mission while 1st and 2nd are attacking Battleships in TBF's. Im assuming theres going to be more than one Battleship that's going to be targeted.
Knowing just how many torps its going to take to sink a Battleship. Im thinking that maybe we should carry a large bomb just incase thier needed to finish off a Battleship. We can always drop them if needed. Ill ask Hogan and Dave to see what they think about it, but, I also want ya'll input aswell. S!
Z.. Here's my thoughts...if we are carrying a bomb to drop after the TBF's are done, then we will be carrying them when 1st and 2nd are on their runs and most vulnerable to air attack.
If you wanted to run ahead and try to kill AA destroyers etc to help them make their attack that might help.
If our mission is to ensure they get to their targets and back then we should keep that first in our minds!
All that being said ...we can always lose them early, so, whatever you want to do I'm in!
Shrt
Maybe split the Squadron up in half with CAP and Bombs.. just thinking out loud..

ROFLMAO !!! ... Mr. On-line War Bomber Escort Guy :)
Twenty has volunteered to take a full loadout, bombs and rockets, and a full tank of fuel. We cant have him running out of gas. He'll run out in front of the group and engage the target to draw off the AAA and flack before the group gets there 10 minutes later. Now so we want mistake him. He'll be flying a retired A6M with "don't shoot me" as the tail number to confuse the enemy.
Get some Tiger. ;)
Guys, keep an eye out for A6M's trying to pass themselves off as friendly aircraft.
Just joking Twenty. I wouldn't do ya that way...
Or would I?
