IL2 4.09 Patch Officially Released!

S~. PLease remember that if you decide to Dl and install this, Keep your AH version.

Currently we have no plans to switch to this version. But i understand some will be curious and want to see how it is.. whether it's compatible with the mods we like, what kind of new problems and fixes it brings with it, etc.

So for now, please use a separate installation for this.

I expect the guys that are still running 408 will be switching up to this version, but we have no idea how it's going to fare with the guys that are already running 409b1m 1.1.1.

I'll only be downloading and installing this if we officially switch. I just don't have the drive space available to do any testing.

Personally since Oleg and his wonderful (insert sarcasm) waited how long now to come out with this, after all the begging and pleading. As far as I'm concern he can get stuffed!

Oleg stopped work on IL2 after 4.09beta to concentrate on SOW

Seeing its an officially sanctioned patch by Oleg and co. the entire IL2 community is going to be switching over to it. All the dedicated DF servers are going to be using it. Itll be a few weeks before it all happens.

I agree with BBQ in holding off installing the patch in our main game folder until AH makes it official, but to play on other servers, IE Warclouds, ect, ect, youll need the patch installed to play online.

S~. We don't know that the "entire" community will switch. The 4.08'ers will, but we don't know how the others are going to like it.

Which is why i am taking the wait and see route... that and i don't have tons of room on my hard drives for extra installations of the same game.

Is there a way for one to upload the patch and skin pack to the AH web server? Or is the file too big to upload? Itll make finding it much easier

Well, Im archiving the whole thing into one handy-dandy .rar file, however, its HUGE (826mb) but, it saves from having to download 3 (1 file is the 4.09 patch, the other 2 are skin files, which are pretty sweet updates.) If t-bull wants, I can upload it to his server if I could get the ftp address.

But if you want to get them, i think you only want the 409m.exe and the skins409m.exe

I'm pretty sure the " m " stands for "merged".

4.09m- new patch(just released)
4.09bm1 old beta patch + AAA mods
I just install 4.09m over all those4.09bm1 Mods and I was able to fly but looks as the patch did not install. I had no problem to use switcher to fly any Mod versions as 4.08 or 4.09bm1 but all stuff that came with new patch 4.09m was absent. No new maps in QMB, no new planes in QMB.(Quick Misson Builder)
I uninsatall Il-2 with 4.0bm1 Mod versions(on my second PC) and reinstal IL-2, added 4.08 and 4.09m(new patch) and works nice.
Nice maps new planes and obtions in QMB. The "No CD" works also with new 4.09m patch
As for me 4.09m ( new patch) is not compatable with all mods and beta version 4.09bm1.
The new 4.09m patch is great for single player , because all new stuff in QMB. I do not like orginal sounds of planes and guns- Mods sounds are a lot better.

Well I have it and installed to a clean version!

Pluses...ummmm uhhhh well it starts very fast with no Mods and errrr...some new planes and maps. Certainly nothing heart stopping, in fact overall. a step backwards! So we now have 5 versions to further split HL servers. The thread I brought this up in at AAA was LOCKED!

Minuses....The UI versions can be forced to work but not really. Old sounds suck, old cockpits suck. This Diadalos team ran headlong without any input from the IL-2 community.
