I think that if they could have upped prduction on that plane we would still be fighting WW2 or all speaking German. That was one mean machine.

I've seen the Russel Aviation Group's Hurricane and Spitfire at the aviation museum in Ottawa but their 109 has never been there for some reason.

The Time When The USS America Dropped Live Pigs On The USS Kennedy's Deck

The story goes that a helicopter crew from the USS America was sent on a mission to deliver "urgent paperwork" to their relieving carrier, the USS John F. Kennedy.
The chopper touched down on the "Big John's" flight-deck, and out charged three frightened pigs painted red, white and blue, and covered with grease.
You can get an idea of the flight-deck crew's stunned reaction, and the chase that followed in the video.
Upon their departure, the helicopter crew asked the Kennedy for a "low pass up your port side," the answer to which was a very clear "negative!"

just a beautiful video...

This was the one occasion this winter when the fog which affected BHX airport was all three of patchy, shallow and freezing. Temperature and dew point were both -4 degrees centigrade.

Yep...been there..experanced that. Rule of thumb for light aircraft operating in and out of O'hare field Chicago was:
Lift off before the spot where the biggie just lifted and stay above his climb-out and
Land beyond the spot where the biggie just landed ...no vortex there

On leaving O'hare I have hit clear air vortex 10 miles from the field.
