Ok.. here its starts... Tuesday Sept 6th 2016
~S~ Welcome to Bears Campaign.
Campaign #1
There are no claims to factual events in this campaign it has been made for your enjoyment. We will fly a variety of aircraft throughout this campaign, something different in each endeavor.
Today, we begin our task with regaining a foothold in France to start a push against the Germans.
The B17's left Biggen Hill airport (you will be airstart) about 30 minutes ago and will rendezvous with the P51 escorts at the western tip of Newport Island. They will fly between 12,000 and 15,000 ft and bomb the runways at Guernsey and Jersey Island.
F-80C Shooting Stars will assist P51 escorts.
P38s and Tempests, your job is to attack both airports east and west of Cherbourg. Its imperative that these runways are clear of Flak and AAA as these bases are where we intend to land and take over.
P51's, when the B17's are clear, assist the P38s and Tempest's attack.
All aircraft will be landing at these airbases.
We have a fleet inbound to that area, and aircraft carrier will launch support aircraft when it get close.

4- Tempest MkV, 1944 Ground attack and enemy base takeover 1 group leader needed----- BBQ leader, Taildrag, SKAT, DW
4- P38L Late, 1944 Ground attack and enemy base takeover 1 group leader needed----- Hogan Leader, Gatlingun, Lippy, Cooter
2- F-80C Shooting Star Assist escort with duties 1 group leader needed----- Fraggman Leader,
Please make posts regarding your choice of aircraft and state if you wish to be group leader.
Leaders so far are taken from what I believed to be requests from the other post, if Im mistaken please clarify in this thread.

I thought we messed with something years ago that did that, but it might have involved ground vehicles. I had never used it myself. I just wondered if thats what you meant by base takeover.

I will fly anything that Bear and BBQ fly but, I like to fly it if it is painted Marine Blue.
I'll fly with BBQ and TD. We can really make an impact.

Both photos----in the lower left hand corner---show a hdg. of 238 degrees. I think that is around south west?

I would have gone with "Bear's Archie Can Never Leave Early So SKAT Does'nt Cry" campaign. Just saying, SKAT has feelings too.
Are we to land at these fields near Cherbourg at the end of Mission 1? We were wondering about loadouts too, we assume they are not locked?

These are some pretty small and indistinct airfields, are the forts gonna be able to get in there without coming to a stop in downtown Cherbourg?

I think Bear could name his new missions "MANA". It is a Hebrew word meaning....'what is it'.
NOTAM - All 38 drivers

1K bombs & rockets
Bomb drops will be line abreast, low level, and a 4 sec. delay.
Looking at the recon pics, we will be releasing bombs while heading *360. Target only things that can shoot at us, do not target anything fuel related.

After release, continue out over the coast and form up line astern with enough spacing for a rocket pass. Circle left and shoot all the nazis in the face with remaining ord.
Do not use guns, save that ammo for any airborne enemy AC.
After all ord is released, climb and fly CAP.

ok I am confused there are three seperate post for the camp so which one are we using.
One post is the scoreboard. Bear made a new post with Mission 2 in the name, that is the post for the current mission. I think he'll make a new post for each. So this one is now defunct. I'll delete the posts referring to #2 in this thread to make it a little more clear.
