I can see the Phillipines and Sakishima islands maps being usefull, though I've not installed the Phillipines one. The Sakishima one is quite nice, but the guy who made it is working on a version that includes a good chunk of Formosa which could spawn even more missions, so we should probobly just wait for that.

I agree.  I've already installed the P.I. map, and the Sakishima Is. one would at least make a few historical missions possible.  Not sure I think much of the others.

Have you gents seen the Grand Canyon map? While I'm pretty sure that no WII battles took place there, it might be a nice ghange of scenery for some low level, in the weeds, looking up at snakes dogfighting.

I still haven't installed it into my "Experimental" game version but the textures look nice.

S~.. these are all just being looked at currently, TD.   no has to install them..   

   the guys that enjoy trying out the new stuff are installing these into a second copy of the game they have in order to test them out and see how they run.  eventually we'll probably be adding one or two of them.. but for now.. they are just in the testing stage.

S~.. looks like a pain in the neck to install..

  i tried it.. didnt' work.. in his post it says something about having to have some extra textures.. but they're not included in the install package.. so i guess i don't have em.. cuz  i get a load error and the map won't open.. looks nice in the pix though,, lol

BB the Grand canyon was really meant for the 1.1. To get it to work in 1.0 is just a matter of copy and paste of some lines in the load.ini.. If you are interested, let me know.

Ah, I'm running 1.1, that's why it was pretty straightforward for me.

BTW - The Korean theater map is in beta now, as are several Korean War aircraft.

Boosher, is your 1.1 in  a second folder?  or did you delete your 1.0? 

  the reason i'm asking is because every time i hear of another AH member running 1.1 it pushes me one step closer to resigning.

Right now as I'm working more closely with the Canvas Knights mod I need 1.1. Because of limited space on my HDD, for the time being, I have rid myself of my 1.0 install. I planned to buy new RAM and do an HDD format when I got home so I didn't see any harm. It caused no problems last night nor any other time I've flown with you all. As long as I'm flying on an irregular basis with you guys, I'll be sticking with 1.1.

understood, Boosh..  you do have a bit of a unique situation.. and you're planning on switching back to 1.0 when you get back to flying more regularly. 

 
  it just seems that over time more and more guys are installing 1.1... and we are seeing more and more game errors. for example there seem to be more guys spawning with problems.. out of line.. on top of another plane.. elevated..    whether or not they are related  is any body's guess.  but that's all they are is guesses.. no one really knows onaccounta the near impossibility of all of us running the same version  to see if the errors decrease significantly. 

  we're gonna have mixed versions running.. we have members that joined with 1.1 already installed.. and that's quite a requirement for new members.. to dump their 1.1...so we're gonna have a some running 1.1. i can live with that.. it  just seems the less mixed we fly, the better.

  and unless they come out with a  patch to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1 that's way smaller than 2GB.. i'm not interested in  downloading it until the time comes that the majority of the IL2 community is using it.. which is either unlikely.. since there are currently  three versions running on hyperlobby..  4.08, 4.09b1m, and 409b1.1m.. orrr it's a long way off..
