Mission #1:
Comiso Airfield Raid
July 13th 1943

Overview:
German forces have begun a push down the coast line into the town of Berdina Nuova, (see map below for reference)
if secured they can begin a push up the valley toward the city of Comiso and take Comiso Airbase which is currently our
front line airbase. We've began evacuating supplies and aircraft out of the airbase because we are unsure if we can halt
the German advance and cant let them capture the airfield intact. The security of our foothold on the island and future
missions in the area rest on this mission.



Mission Brief:
Aces High, you will be taking off from Pachino flying P-51's, B-25's and A-20's in a desperate fighter sweep and bombing raid on
advancing German units and their air cover. If we lose these towns and airfield we will be in bad shape with Pachino being
our last airfield on the island. We must win this battle or we might be forced back and have to rethink our strategy.
We have a small group of fighters still at Pachino Airbase waiting to scramble if enemy bombers show up or if things go south.
And remember, if in trouble Pachino is still an operating airbase and can provide a bit of anti-aircraft support as well as surrounding
towns where our forces are holding on alert waiting for the German advance.

P-51's will fly in ahead of the bombers providing aircover and drawing the fighters away from the bombers. Simple as that.
Protect the attack and then get out of dodge while covering the bombers retreat.

B-25's will fly in behind the escorts low and fast, once you reach the airfield and the fighters become engaged break south
and head toward the town of Berdina Nuova on the coast, there you need to attack any German units in the city so our tanks
can take it back. After you've spent your bombs head for home along the coast.

A-20's will fly in alongside the B-25's but will break off before the city and take out any German armor or
supply columns in the area. Do as much damage as you can then head for home along the coast.
