What ho chaps? Mission plan for this week is a little messy. We'll have two groups as follows :

   Group One (West)

   3 x P-39N-1 - Escort\CAP
   2 x P-39D-2 - Escort\CAP
   4 x P-38J - Ground Attack\Bridge Busting\More Ground Attack
   1 x A-20G - Ground Attack\Bridge Busting\More Ground Attack

   Group Two (East)

   5 x P-40E - Escort
   5 x A-20G - Anti-shipping\Ground Attack

Group One:

First off, the P-39s and P-38s/A-20 will take off and head directly for the airfield at Fonni in F-6 keypad 4. The 39s will no doubt arrive first. Once there the A-20s should look for small group or possibly even a single enemy vehicle just north of the airfield. I don't know how reliable the recon is on this, so check it out and kill anything thats there. But save some bombs for your second target! The second target being....the bridge in D-6 keypad 3. Destroy it.

Once that bridge is down, the P-39s will no longer be providing close escort to the ground pounders. They will begin a CAP mission patrolling a line from C-6 keypad 2 to D-6 keypad 3. Basically between WPs 3 and 4. There is lots of friendly flak around Cabras\Oristano so look for that as a warning that enemy are in the area, you can also use it if you get into trouble. Stay patrolling until at least mission start +50 minutes. I'd recommend full fuel and extra ammunition for the N-1s, the D-2s do not have that loadout. Do not take bombs.

The P-38s\A-20 will then fly to Cabras\Oristano and it's airfield hunting 3 enemy tanks in the area. Two were sighted in Oristano itself and one over near the airfield. It's possible friendly ground units in the area might kill some of them, even all of them. So check if there are there, if so do your best to kill them. Lastly you are free to poke around the roads heading north out of Cabras and north east out of Oristano for any enemy vehicles comming in. Also there will probobly be some enemy static aircraft on the field at Oristano you could strafe. Beware of friendly static aircraft and ground units throughout this area. If after all that you still have ammo left you can join the P-39s in their CAP mission or land at Oristano.  If you get into trouble remember the flak around Cabras\Oristano and that the P-39s will not be far away.

Now, the three P-39N-1s and all of the ground pounding group will land at Oristano. But the two P-39D-2s (which we will make sure are AH manned) will not land at Oristano but will instead land at Fonni in F-6 keypad 4. This is a bit of an experiment to see if we can capture the airfield just by landing a couple kites on them. The two P-39Ds are expendible so if we loose them it's no biggie. If for some reason those two P-39s cannot get there, I will order others to take their place and divert there.

Also note that the one A-20 that is attached to this group will actually have waypoints for Group Two. Whoever mans this aircraft will ignore those waypoints and follow the rest of his flight in the P-38s.

See what I mean? Messy, messy.

Group Two:

All aircraft will takeoff and head for their first waypoint in G-5 keypad 5 and form up just offshore of Tortoli. Once the P-40s and A-20s are together follow your waypoints (they are meant to try and side step enemy fighters going in) and head for your first target in G-8 keypad 5. The primary is a destroyer in the river near the bridge. At last sighting it was half on land. This DD must be sunk, from it's position it has good sight lines to the road that runs north from Nuoro. It will be able to bombard friendly units on that road like a shooting gallery. Your secondary targets are any transports between WPs 4 and 5. Prioritize targets from south to north. Once all bombs are expended proceed to waypoint 6 and strafe enemy ground units, there are still many in the area. Once done follow your waypoints and land at Oristano. P-40s primary mission is to escort the A-20s but they may carry bombs if they wish.
