Excellent turn-out for mission - 25, we had 23 pilots altogether !!!  Here is the next briefing to be flown on Tuesday - March 19th.

"Philippines Campaign - Luzon"
Mission - 26
Date: January 21st, 1945

After Action Report:

Great Work !!! ... Protecting the fleet from that kamikaze raid. The group destroyed over 50 enemy aircraft in the air. The escort carrier USS Salamwa and a destroyer were heavily damaged. Both had to be abandoned and scuttled.

Intelligence:

Welcome back to Mindoro Gentlemen ...

Gen. MacArthur's forces have pushed south down the Linguayen Valley to a position just north of Angeles. Today's tasking is hitting Clark Airfield once again, grid BB-49, pad 4. We need to hit the airfield hard to reduce the enemy's capability to strike the Army from the air.

RECON Photo:

There are regular enemy air patrols over the Manila area and Clark field at irregular times throughout the day and evening.

AAA at Clark Field is considered medium to strong.

The Mission:

We're going to hit Clark Field, grid BB-49, pad 4.

1st Squad (P-38) - arm with bombs and rockets. Attack the enemy airfield. Target enemy aircraft and facilities.
2nd Squad (P-38) - arm with default. Provide CAP for the strike aircraft.
3rd Squad (P-38) - arm with bombs and rockets. Attack the enemy airfield. Target enemy aircraft and facilities.
HQ & Guests (P-38) - arm with default. Provide CAP for the strike aircraft.

Notams:

* All pilots to use same comms.
* All aircraft are at ZERO fuel.

1st Squad (P-38) - seats 1-8
2nd Squad (P-38) - seats 9-16
3rd Squad (P-38) - seats 17-24
HQ & Guests (P-38) seats 25-28

Good Luck ...
Salute,
