Aces High Members by Current Rank

Hi Guys ,

             I am fooling with a fun project , and for this to be done correctly , I need to know the current
             command rank for all active Aces High Pilots.
             Ideally , I need a list like this :

             Aces High HQ Flight     CO , XO , Staff , Staff
             1st Sqdn                     1st Sqdn HQ Flight                     CO , XO , Warrant , Warrant
                                               1st Sqdn 1st Flight
                                               1st Sqdn 2nd Flight
                                               1st Sqdn 3rd Flight
                                               1st Sqdn 4th Flight
              2nd Sqdn                    As above
              3rd Sqdn                    As above

              Also , if any pilots ( other than HQ or Sqdn Command) wish to chime in for specific numbers , I need to know those too.

             If there are specific Group Colours , or colours associated with any squadron , I need to know that as well.

I don't think there has ever been any organized flight structure within the squadrons. Each has its CO who is listed at the top of each squadron page, then below them is listed everyone else in no particular order.

Back when AH was organized into 4 flights we had colors assigned to them but we never really used them much. I can think of only one time when skins were made that had them. They were:

HQ Flight - Silver
A Flight (1st Squadron) - Yellow
B Flight (2nd Squadron) - Maroon
C Flight (Defunct, pilots assigned to other 3 Squadrons) - Red
D Flight (3rd Squadron) - Black

I think maroon was chosen as a joke, that time we used them it was hard to tell a B and C kite apart unless they were side by side.

As far as I can remember Squadrons/Flights each has a Flight Leader as opposed to CO and never really had any structure other than that.

                 If any of you have numerical preferences , please let me know.
                 Numbers MUST  be between 2 and 36.
                 Duplicates are NOT a big deal , except WITHIN Squadrons.

                 The following are immune from this request due to rank and/or function :

                 Jack
                 Darkwolf
                 Bear
                 Hollywood
                 z50

                 If I don't receive a numerical preference from you , I will assign one to you.

                 You will understand when the project is complete ( although DW has - sensibly - influenced me to narrow the scope of it).

Okay ,

          What I am doing here is making a set of BF109 Skins for the Fall Blau Campaign
          as a thank you to all you guys for allowing me to skulk around.

          I am making them semi-historical with an Aces High twist.

          Here is the enumerated roster as I have it.
          If you don't like your number , you can arrange to trade with anyone else , just let me know.
          There are also some unassigned numbers which are free for the taking.
          Again just let me know.
          Command positions have their IDs assigned as follows below , so you don't get to pick a number.

          As most of you probably already know , the Luftwaffe hierarchy was as follows :
          Luftflotte       Airfleet         Luftflotte 2 for example
          Geschwader  Wing            JG54 for example
          Gruppe         Group           I/JG54  as Gruppe 1 of Jagdegeschwader 54
          Staffel          Squadron      Most (fighter ) Staffeln had a Stabs (Staff) Flight and 4 flights of 4 aircraft

          Staffeln were identified by colours AND symbols.

          Normally 1st Staffel was white and had no distinctive symbols.
          2nd Staffel was either Rot (Red) or Schwarz ( Black) and had a horizontal bar ( following the balkenkreuz ) as
          its symbol.
          3rd Staffel was usually Gelb ( Yellow) and had a horizontal bar or squiggle or a vertical bar as its symbol.
          4th Staffel was usually Blau ( Blue ) or sometimes  Braun ( Brown ) , and could have a circle , a cross (+) or
          a shortened squiggle as its symbol.

          So , here is the roster and numbers assigned as I have them :

Okay ,

         The first release of these is ready , I just have to figure out the best way to distribute them.


         Please bear in mind a couple of things :

         1) I am an adequate , not an expert skinner - if some of you like the idea but not my work , I am using a publicly
             available template by emel , which I will gladly pass on to anybody else who wants to have a bash at it.

         2) This is the first generation of skins - other than the aircraft ID number/symbol , the paint schemes are the same.
             I have added no other individualization.
             I have not added a lot of wear , stains , paint chips , kill markings etc.
             I have not done any winterized versions.
             
             If you want more , make a request to me via pm , or email.

         3) These are still works in progress , but your feedback will help refine the product.

Okay Guys ,

                  I've put the First Edition of this Skinset of Bf109s for the Fall Blau Campaign ( for those that wish to use them)
                  in a Dropbox Link

                  I'll leave it up for a couple of weeks. Anyone is free to re-upload this .zip Folder to somewhere more permanent if you wish.

                  I do intend to polish up the skins a bit in the future - I just wanted to get them to you while we're still in 109Fs !


                  Bear in mind a couple of things.

                  I have made skins for all the guys who have been flying in the last year or so.
                  I am happy to make skins for the other guys on request.

                  I have made these skins "pseudo historical".
                  I have used correct Luftewaffe markings and colours to designate Command Aircraft markings and Squadron assignments,
                  and chosen a font which is a reasonable match for Luftwaffe markings.

                  These camo schemes are based on a single generic paintscheme taken (with liberties) from the JG54 Camo style on the Ostfront.
                  There are no individual wear and tear , fluids leak stains , paint chips , kill markings etc -
                  the only individual differences right now are rank insignia , and aircraft numbers.

                  I'd be happy to modify these skins to personal requests , or perhaps one of the more experienced skinners would like to
                  individualize these to your tastes.
                  I'm happy to turn over the template ( Based on Emel's work from Hangar 19 ) to anyone that wants to take a wack at
                  modifying these - I only ask that you honour the Squadron Colour Schemes , and don't duplicate numbers within the squads :
                  1st Squad Weiss ( white)
                  2nd Squad Rot    (Red)
                  3rd Squad  Gelb  ( Yellow)
                  Guests as 4th  Squad Blau ( Blue )
