Euro campaign mission 25 game plan...

Since I am slotted as MC for this next adventure in our Euro Campaign, I can only hope that I don't lead you all into the firey spiral of death that we have all experienced in the past.....  well, here is a basic rundown of the game plan I propose for our Tuesday night in Bastogne..

DW will be driving the lead C-47, throwing out the rubber dog$*#t out the back as fast as he can to lighten the load to gain as much speed as.....  hey now, cmon, just kidding DW!!!!!   This one will be simple in my eyes, depending on how many P-51 drivers we have.

The Plan:   Depending on the numbers of pilots, a larger forward sweep of the flight path of the C-47's consisting of 4-6 pilots will lead the way.  The remainder will escort in a rolling wheel type formation above and around,  constantly around the C-47's.  (Depending on the visibility during the mission, meaning if the C-47's can't have constant "eyes on them" with a rolling wheel of cover, we will revert to the above/in-front and behind cover tactic).  2-4 fighters will push forward to Bastogne and keep any fighters busy by leading them away from the C-47's or dispatching of them accordingly....  the fighters that head directly to Bastogne are to exercise restraint and act a "scout flight" first, reporting on enemy A/C in the air and AAA conditions, then as an interdiction element to help clear the way for the C-47's if necessary.  P-51 escorts of the C-47's will follow flight leaders instructions for engagement and the Mission C/O will ensure that the C-47's are monitored by at least one flight at all times, if possible and we don't get our @$$es handed to us by the B & Z'ing Jerries.   With that, and again depending on numbers, there may be a dedicated free flight maintaining high cover and directed to the area of conflict as necessary.  That is all gents!!!  Recommendations and criticism accepted without prejudice, unless it's coming from DW, then I will have to ignore it....    :happy-112:
